Our Mission
Dynamic Opportunities is a small, non-profit middle and high school for students with special needs (or “unique abilities”, as we like to say). We also offer an intensive Transitions Program to support young adults who are moving into adulthood.
Nine teachers and four Teacher Assistants offer 6 hours of instruction per day with frequent community-based field trips. We are working collaboratively with our families in a project-based learning environment to teach the relevant academic skills, life skills, and social skills these uniquely-abled students need to become independent and contributing members of the community.
As a private school, we strive to provide both a comprehensive life skills-based education for our students and a support system for their families.
Instead of focusing on our students’ disabilities, we work with parents to promote acceptance and a growth mindset as we recognize and foster each of the unique abilities these youth bring to the table. Thus results a community of empowered learners who are supported and guided by engaged teachers and parents: a community where students are never underestimated or marginalized as they so often are in more traditional models of education.
Our History
In 2015, three special needs teachers got together to start a homeschool co-op just for students with special needs. In just a couple of years, they transformed this co-op into a blossoming school that not only welcomes unique abilities, but embraces them. Now in our 10th year and thriving, we have grown from 19 to 60 students. Join us as we continue to grow, celebrate, and support our students and their families during this very special Anniversary year!
